Many years have passed, many tons of grapes grown, and many bottles of wine been produced and sold around the world since Ian entered the wine industry. It was in 1996 that Ian’s wines first entered the US market. Those were the days when fax machines were new and rare and postal services were profitable. He has plenty of memories of interesting marketing trips and good sales in the US over the years.
Concept
The concept is simple – to provide the platform for exclusive New Zealand and New World wines to be within the reach of the US consumer.
As consolidation within the US liquor industry continues requiring traditional methods of selling wines to change along with internet sales to growth the opportunity arose to assemble a wider portfolio. To maximise the appeal and impact of that portfolio, a robust and balanced range was needed and Ian looked to Simon Nash MW to assist him. The results are impressive with the majority of the portfolio being exclusive to Kiwi Wines Direct.
